Bristol Gardens I
Modern rear and side extension to an Edwardian house in Putney Heath, London SW15
This Edwardian home in Putney Heath Conservation Area had been subject to various extensions over the years resulting in piecemeal layout of fragmented rooms. We set out to create a simplified, fluid series of spaces through the addition of new side and rear extensions.
A large open Kitchen – Dining – Family room with a sleek slim line glass façade shares a view of the garden with an adjacent snug, and also a gym, each with big glass sliding doors linking each space to the outdoors.
A new shower and changing room has been located off the gym to allow easy access to the outside pool.
A large utility room and walk-in larder has been created off the open plan kitchen and dining area. The dining area and snug area benefits from a contemporary fire place which is located in the dividing wall.
Attention to detail is evident throughout with from the carefully matched bricks that feature inside and out, to the well-considered and stylish bathroom and utility.
